Chung's Facility

Our training facility, like our program is second to none.  Our newly remodeled 2500 square foot gym was designed soley for Tae Kwon Do training.  It is entirely carpeted to properly condition the feet. For your protection, state of the art gymnatistics grade foam matting was installed underneath the carpeted floor.  It is equipped with four regulation sized sparring rings for precise tournament training, a full sized mirrored wall for better visibility of your technique, and is outfitted with the best equipment available for today's martial arts training.  We also provide changing rooms on site and a comfortable pick up waiting area for the parents.

Master David K. Chung:

David Ki Yung Chung has trained in the art of Tae Kwon Do since the age of 9. Quickly rising through the ranks, he became one of the youngest ranking 4 degree black belts in the country. An avid competitor in his youth; he traveled the country with the Midwest All Stars competing in a wide variety of tournaments. He went on to become the PKA Junior Midwest Champion two years running and has been Master Instructor for over 20 years.

Chung's Difference:

Here at Chung's Black Belt Academy, we are not a McDojo which pops up in every city, promises to fill you up, but does little more than leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth. Our students pride themselves on knowing that they did not simply buy their belt, but earned it through intense training. Training through our system will build confidence in yourself and confidence in our instruction. Our instructors pride themselves on holding true to tradition and their attention to detail when it comes to proper technique.

Our main focus at Chung's Black Belt Academy is always to produce top quality martial artists. This does not stop at just throwing the hardest punch or fastest kick. Every student, regardless of age, will learn important life skills and exude confidence. Adults, for example, will have a great way to relieve stress and learn new ways to manage stressful situations. Children will learn to be respectful and courteous. After all, the most important lesson we learn is not how to punch, but why we throw that punch.

Martial Arts is a way of life which does not stop once we exit the Do Jang (training facility). We are not merely "playing" Tae Kwon Do when we have our "jerseys" on. Regardless if we are in or out of the Do Jang, wearing our Do Bok (uniform) or not wearing it, we are always martial artists. To make such a commitment to improving yourself and the world around you is the real challenge.

Tae Kwon Do for Adults:

Master Chung offers beginner through advance classes for adults.  Tae Kwon Do training can help adults relieve tension, increase stamina, lose weight, reduce stress, develop a new enthusiasm for life, gain confidence, improve coordination and stay in shape. Women who are concerned about safety often begin Tae Kwon Do training as a way to learn self defense.  Staying in shape through training is an added benefit from the sport. Men who want an aerobic workout, with more structure and diversity, love training in martial arts. If provides a strong cardiovascular workout with high level of personal challenge while relieving stress and tension. No one has to be in shape to start Tae Kwon Do: it is designed to help you get into shape.  We help you train based on your abilities.

Tae Kwon Do for Children:

Master Chung teaches children from ages 3-18. Tae Kwon Do helps youngsters learn discipline and respect for their elders. It makes good use of their abounding energy, and opens their imaginative minds. They often have a growing eagerness to excel not only in the martial arts, but also academically.  Thus, they gain the same pride in their accomplishments that is needed to be the future leaders of the world.
